As many of you know today is Jenna's birthday, she would be 26 years old. One Angel Donation helps complete Toy Room at Aids Hospice

Jenna spent six months in South Africa on a study abroad program through Stellenbosch University. During Jenna’s study abroad at Stellenbosch University in South Africa she worked for the Cotlands in their AIDS orphanage and hospice in Cape Town. From a young girl Jenna wanted to work with AIDS kids. She truly enjoyed her work there. She had hoped to go back.

One Angel Foundation was able to make a substantial donation to the Cotlands this year which was used to expand their toy library. The library is used  to teach parents to develop their skills to play with their children as play is an important part of a child’s development and helps in muscle development, concentration and perseverance, listening and language skills.

From everyone here at Cotlands in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, I’d like to say a very big thank you to each and every one who contributed to the success of the One Angel Foundation`s 1st World Hike A Mountain Day. Thank you for the donation  which we received to benefit the children of Cotlands.

If you’ve never been to South Africa, it would be quite difficult for you to understand the many difficulties facing underprivileged children in our country and therefore we thank you for supporting the work that we do.
Poverty is a big problem here and where there is poverty, you’ll also find alcohol and drug addiction, unwanted pregnancies and child abuse. We deal with little children every day who have been on the receiving end of these serious social problems, because Cotlands is about children, children who have been abandoned, abused, neglected and infected and affected with HIV/AIDS.
Cotlands operates throughout South Africa and, with the help of generous supporters like you, we are able to reach out to thousands of little ones in need. We help by giving them a place to stay, providing medical treatment, giving them a good early education and helping children with special needs, such as the blind and disabled. We work hard to help families work through their problems so that they can be united again and live happily together. And, where children are orphans or have been abandoned by their parents, we search for adoptive parents who can offer them a safe, loving and comfortable home.

Our work isn’t easy, so it’s been very encouraging to know that people on the opposite side of the world to us are working to build bridges of hope and support. And with your help, our children can learn to enjoy the precious things in life and know they are being………

One Angel Donation helps complete School in Honduras

OLANCHO AID FOUNDATION

Jenna spent part of two summers working with Olancho Aid Foundation to help the children and families in Julticalpa Honduras. The time spent in Julticalpa left a lasting imprint on Jenna.  This past year Olancho undertook an effort to build new class rooms.

This year One Angel Foundation was able to make a substantial donation to Olancho Aid to help complete new classrooms in Julticalpa. Recently Olancho Aid has completed the school.  Olancho Aid prepared a wonderful video of the new school and the school kids.

Letter of Thanks

We would like to thank all that hiked, donated and or supported our efforts with our first annual World Hike A Mountain Day held in memory of Jenna Agule. The event was a thundering success as over 300 hikers climbed or walked 27 different mountains and trails around the world (20 US and 7 International). At Mt Wachusett 190 hikers enjoyed not only a good hike but food and festivities at Mt Wachusett’s Apple Fest. Check our web site: www.oneangelfoundation.org for pictures and locations of our hikes.

Monies raised this year has gone to support four great causes: i) the completion of  a toy room at the Cotlands, the AIDS orphanage and hospice Jenna worked with in Cape Town, South Africa; (ii) the completion of a new school in Julticalpa, Honduras by Olancho Aid, where Jenna spent parts of two summers, (iii) to a micro loan account at www.kiva.org  to provide loans to local businesses supporting the economy of Julticalpa and (iv) a scholarship to an AB senior.  Contributions this year made a real difference in the lives of children and their families in these communities.
We don’t know how to thank personally everyone enough who participated in this world event enough from hikers, donors, fund-raisers; the folks at Wachusett, our vendors who supported us and all who gave us support in prayer. Their participation has given us the knowledge that we all are part of something special that will grow and honor Jenna today and in the future.

Final Mt Wachusett Numbers

Hi Everyone

Final numbers are in for World Hike A Mountain Day at Mt Wachusett. 190 folks joined us for hiking the mountain and to enjoy Wachusett’s Apple Fest of food, music and fun. We are still collecting all the final numbers for the hikes around the world and will have those out as soon as we have them. One thing is for sure World Hike A Mountain Day was a rousing success. Thank you all!!

WORLD HIKE A MOUNTAIN DAY RECAP AND THANK YOU

Hello All
One Angel Foundation’s 1st World Hike A Mountain Day was a thundering success as over 200 hikers climbed or walked 27 different mountains and trails around the world. At Wachusett hikers enjoyed not only a good hike but food and festivities at Apple Fest being held at Wachusett. As we see pictures of our hikers from around the world being posted on Facebook we truly see the magnitude of Jenna’s reach and the mission we are trying to accomplish.

Over the next days and weeks we will be sending our hikers a link to send us their pictures, videos, stories from the hike and any “Jenna” stories you may have. We will be building an on-line book to host the story of our first World Hike A Mountain Day.

We will be closing out our fundraising efforts for World Hike A Mountain Day at the end of this month so please make sure that any donations have get sent in  soon.

Over the next months we will be working with the folks: (i) at the Cotlands, the AIDS orphanage Jenna worked with and (ii) in Julticalpa Honduras to identify projects to be completed with monies raised. We will document those efforts with pictures and stories as they happen so we all can see the impact of our efforts these past few weeks.

We don’t know how to thank everyone enough who participated in this world event enough from hikers, donors, fundraisers, the folks at Wachusett, our vendors who supported us and all that gave us support in prayer. Your participation has given us the knowledge that we all are part of something special that will grow and honor Jenna today and in the future.
